There are many opinions about the Asbury revival. I’ve been praying for it to continue to spread. But the first place it needs to start is in my own heart. Lord, grow my heart….

Holy Spirit, grow my heart…
That I might grow flowers, not weeds…
To look past my own selfish needs,
To see those straining and trying,
Yet have souls lost and dying.

Holy Spirit, grow my heart…
That while I lament this sick world,
I will see Your kingdom unfurled.
Greed, crime, drugs, and gender—
Will all bow in surrender.

Holy Spirit, grow my heart…
To cast off pride, seek Your face,
To know I’m no more deserving of grace
Than the most murderous, lewd, men.
The cross includes even them.

Holy Spirit, grow my heart…
Quench my complacent indulgence
To move past my reluctance
To carry Living Water in glasses
To the lost, thirsty masses.

Holy Spirit, grow my heart…
Move my gaze toward what You see,
To follow Your path for me,
To repent of my dwindling fire,
To live holy as You require.

Holy Spirit, grow my heart…
To not give up in defeat
At the worldwide needs I can’t meet…
For You’ll show me what to do,
Because I can reach the nearby few.

Holy Spirit grow my heart…
So that I no longer care
If people think I’m “way out there,”
To know the task that You’ve given me
Is one blind eyes will never see.

Holy Spirit, grow my heart…
And help my own eyes to see
That this world’s not all that’s meant for me.
Help me to point redemption’s way
To those who cross my path each day.

Holy Spirit, grow my heart…
To tell when I’m the only one.
To tell when I’m scared, made-fun.
To tell of this heart made new…
To tell all those I meet of You.

Dear Bobbie, I will never know your heart as God does, but I do know God is in the center of it and your life. I want you to know how much you have been such an inspiration to me with your teaching and leadership, in your everyday life as a mom, nurse, wife and friend, and in your daily walk with God. You continually point me to my goal to live more like Christ! Thank you for allowing God to use you.

Sharon, you point me to Jesus, too! Thank you for such encouraging words. You don’t know how much that means to me!
