Easter Jesus poems salvation

Come to the Cross

Great Savior Christ, such pain you bore,
Blood shed on my behalf.
You’re the One True Vine where my small branch
Was firmly made ingraft.

Oh, Chosen One, You chose me, too.
Such knowledge my heart stabs.
To think you traded royal robes
To wear my filthy rags.

Oh, Holy One, what gifts you give
This undeserving child—
Your Spirit dwelling in me,
Showing all that is defiled.

Remove those things and make me pure.
Remind me of my call.
Each day I give myself to You,
To be my life, my all.

May my redemption never be
Atonement won for naught,
But may my life reflect the price
With which my soul was bought.

So great a price! So great a love!
The gospel is the greatest story!
Jesus suffered unimaginable pain
To restore us to God’s glory!

God’s redemption reigns at Easter
In every heart that calls him Lord.
Don’t miss the blessing of His gift
By chasing lies within this world!

He lives today! Come to the cross!
Come see the veil is torn!
The cross of shame brings life for us—
With an empty tomb on Easter morn!

c. Bobbie Perkins

But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. -Isaiah 53:5,6
